Orforglipron for Sleep
First oral non-peptide GLP-1 receptor agonist (Eli Lilly); Phase 3 obesity program.
Why Orforglipron for sleep?
Orforglipron (LY3502970) is Eli Lilly's small-molecule, non-peptide GLP-1R agonist. Unlike oral semaglutide it does not require SNAC absorption enhancers or fasted dosing. Phase 2 obesity (2023) showed up to 14.7% weight loss at 36 weeks. Phase 3 ATTAIN and ACHIEVE programs read out in 2025.
Sleep context: Modulating sleep architecture, slow-wave sleep depth, and circadian regulation. Orforglipron fits this goal because its category (Metabolic) and benefit profile align with the underlying mechanism.
