KPV

KPV is a C-terminal tripeptide of alpha-MSH (Lys-Pro-Val) that retains anti-inflammatory activity via interaction with melanocortin receptors and nuclear NF-kB pathway inhibition, without the pigmentation-driving activity of the full alpha-MSH sequence. It has been studied in mucosal inflammation models and demonstrated anti-inflammatory effects in colitis via intraperitoneal and oral delivery in animal studies.
