Melanotan II
Melanotan II is a cyclic heptapeptide analogue of alpha-MSH with non-selective melanocortin receptor activity spanning MC1R to MC5R. Its central CNS activity through MC4R is associated with pro-erectile and appetite-suppressive effects. Unlike afamelanotide, it readily crosses the blood-brain barrier, leading to pronounced central effects alongside skin pigmentation.
