Anamorelin for Fat Loss

Oral ghrelin-receptor agonist developed for cancer cachexia; approved in Japan as Adlumiz.

Why Anamorelin for fat loss?

Anamorelin (ONO-7643) is an orally active selective ghrelin/GHSR-1a agonist. Approved in Japan (2021, Adlumiz, Ono Pharmaceutical) for cancer cachexia in NSCLC, gastric, pancreatic, and colorectal cancers. ROMANA-1/2 Phase 3 trials demonstrated lean-mass gains but failed handgrip-strength endpoints, leading to EMA refusal.

Fat Loss context: Reducing body fat percentage through appetite regulation, lipolysis, or metabolic upregulation. Anamorelin fits this goal because its category (Performance) and benefit profile align with the underlying mechanism.
