Dihexa
Dihexa was reported to bind hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) and potentiate signaling through its receptor c-Met, increasing spinogenesis and synaptogenesis in neuronal models. The principal study supporting this mechanism has been retracted, so the proposed mechanism should be treated as unconfirmed. c-Met is a known oncogene, which is the basis for the theoretical proliferative-risk caution.
Cognitive effects may be perceived acutely to within days; sustained benefit depends on continued use.
Store the lyophilized powder refrigerated (2 to 8 C), or frozen for long-term storage, protected from light. After reconstitution with bacteriostatic water, keep refrigerated and use within about 4 weeks.

What the literature says
Scientific Overview
Evidence is preclinical only; there are no human clinical trials of dihexa. Importantly, the foundational 2014 paper describing its HGF/c-Met mechanism (Benoist CC et al., J Pharmacol Exp Ther) has since been RETRACTED, which further weakens the evidence base. A related prodrug (fosgonimeton) was studied in humans but did not establish efficacy. All use is investigational and educational only; efficacy and safety in humans are unproven.
