Preclinical
Lab and animal studies before human tests
Preclinical research includes experiments in cells, tissues, and animals that occur before any testing in humans. These studies explore basic mechanisms, initial safety signals, and rough dose information. Only compounds that show acceptable results in preclinical work typically advance to human clinical trials.
Used in 9 research peptides
- LongevityKlotho (alpha-Klotho)Anti-aging hormone; soluble klotho boosts cognition and modulates phosphate/FGF23 axis.
- LongevityGDF-11TGF-beta family ligand controversially linked to age-reversal via parabiosis studies.
- CognitiveGlycyl-L-Glutamine (Beta-endorphin 30-31)Beta-endorphin C-terminal dipeptide investigated for opioid-tolerance modulation and CNS effects.
- CognitiveDihexaInvestigational orally active angiotensin-IV-derived peptidomimetic studied preclinically as a hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) potentiator with synaptogenic effects. No human data; educational use only.
- PerformanceSLU-PP-332Investigational small-molecule ERR (estrogen-related receptor) agonist studied preclinically as an exercise mimetic. Mouse data only; no human studies. Educational use only.
- OtherVIP (Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide)A 28-amino-acid signaling peptide with anti-inflammatory and vasodilatory actions; its synthetic form (aviptadil) has been trialed for respiratory failure, and an intranasal form is used off-label in the chronic-inflammatory-response (mold/CIRS) community.
- MetabolicAdipotide (FTPP)An investigational proapoptotic peptidomimetic that targets the blood supply of white fat; it produced weight loss in obese primates but caused reversible kidney effects, and human data are limited to a single early-phase safety study.
- RecoveryThymulinA zinc-dependent thymic nonapeptide (FTS-Zn) that supports T-cell maturation and modulates inflammation; studied mainly in preclinical and mechanistic research.
- TRTPregnenolonePregnenolone is an endogenous neurosteroid and the first committed steroid produced from cholesterol. It is not FDA-approved as a drug and is available as a dietary supplement or through compounding.
