Ghrelin

Stomach hormone that signals hunger

Ghrelin is a hormone produced mainly in the stomach that rises before meals and promotes appetite. It also stimulates the release of growth hormone from the pituitary. Several research peptides act on the same receptor that ghrelin uses.
