GIP

Gut hormone that amplifies insulin release after meals

GIP is a hormone produced in the upper small intestine when food, especially carbohydrates and fats, is present. It acts on the pancreas to increase insulin output in a blood-sugar-dependent way. Studies examine GIP signaling alongside related gut hormones to understand combined effects on how the body processes nutrients.
