Receptor Desensitization

Reduced response after repeated or prolonged stimulation

Receptor desensitization occurs when a receptor becomes less responsive after continuous or high-level activation by its signaling molecule. This can limit the effect of repeated doses of a compound. GHS-R agonists such as certain GHRPs are noted in research for showing desensitization with sustained use, which is one reason cycling is discussed.
