Sirtuin
Enzyme family linked to cellular maintenance
Sirtuins are a group of enzymes that remove certain chemical tags from proteins and play roles in DNA repair, metabolism, and stress resistance inside cells. Their activity often depends on NAD availability. Several compounds under investigation in longevity research are examined for possible indirect effects on sirtuin function.
