Thermogenesis
Heat production from calorie burning
Thermogenesis refers to the generation of heat that occurs when the body burns fuel, including through ordinary metabolism and through specialized fat tissue. It contributes to overall daily energy expenditure. Partial activation of glucagon receptors is one mechanism examined in research for possible effects on energy use and heat production.
