Effects on sleep are typically felt the night of dosing.
Store the lyophilized powder refrigerated (2 to 8 C), or frozen for long-term storage, protected from light. After reconstitution with bacteriostatic water, keep refrigerated and use within about 4 weeks.

Scientific Overview
Orexin-A (hypocretin-1) is a 33-aa hypothalamic neuropeptide central to wakefulness; loss of orexin neurons causes narcolepsy type 1. Intranasal orexin-A has been studied as a replacement therapy in narcolepsy and for cognitive arousal in sleep deprivation (Baier et al., 2008). Small-molecule orexin agonists (e.g. TAK-861, Takeda) are in late-stage trials.
