Bioregulator

Short peptide studied for tissue-specific effects

Bioregulators are very short peptides, often four to ten amino acids long, that were originally isolated from animal organs and later synthesized. In research they are examined for possible influences on gene expression and function within the tissue type from which they were derived. Examples include Epitalon from pineal tissue and Thymosin Alpha-1 from thymus tissue.
