Lipogenesis
Process of building new fat stores
Lipogenesis is the series of steps cells use to convert excess energy into fat molecules for storage. It occurs mainly in the liver and in fat tissue when calorie intake exceeds immediate needs. mTOR signaling and nutrient availability are among the factors studied in relation to this pathway in metabolic research.
