Melatonin
Hormone that signals darkness and supports sleep timing
Melatonin is a hormone produced mainly at night by the pineal gland in response to signals from the eyes about light levels. It helps align internal clocks with the external day-night cycle. Epitalon research in Russian studies has included observations on normalized melatonin secretion patterns in elderly participants.
