Oxidative Stress
Imbalance from reactive molecules and defenses
Oxidative stress occurs when reactive molecules produced during normal metabolism or under challenge exceed the cell's ability to neutralize them. These molecules can damage proteins, fats, and DNA if not kept in check. SS-31 and certain other peptides are researched for possible protective effects against mitochondrial sources of such stress.
