Clinical Evidence

What the literature says

Scientific Overview

Humanin is a 24-aa peptide encoded within the mitochondrial 16S rRNA region, discovered by Hashimoto et al. (2001) as a factor protecting neurons from amyloid-beta-induced toxicity. Together with MOTS-c and the SHLPs, it is part of the mitochondrial-derived peptide family. Studied in Alzheimer's, atherosclerosis, and diabetes models; no approved indication.
