Extracellular Matrix
Network of proteins and sugars surrounding cells
The extracellular matrix is the collection of collagen, elastin, proteoglycans, and other molecules that cells secrete and organize outside themselves. It provides structural support, guides cell movement, and stores signaling molecules. Healing peptides such as BPC-157 and GHK-Cu are studied in part for how they may influence matrix deposition and remodeling.
