HbA1c
Blood test for average glucose over months
HbA1c is a laboratory test that reflects average blood glucose concentrations over the preceding two to three months. It measures the percentage of hemoglobin proteins that have glucose attached to them. The result is reported as a percentage and is one way to describe longer-term glucose patterns.
