Cagrilintide

Cagrilintide is a long-acting synthetic amylin analog that acts as an agonist at amylin receptors (AMY1, AMY2, AMY3) and the calcitonin receptor. Amylin receptor activation slows gastric emptying, promotes satiety, and reduces food intake via central and peripheral signaling pathways. Its extended half-life supports once-weekly subcutaneous dosing. It is co-formulated with semaglutide as CagriSema; the REDEFINE Phase 3 program evaluates this combination. Both standalone cagrilintide and the combination are investigational.
